Momma and the Dolphins. The two constants throughout these decades of incarceration. And although Mom has never let me down, I can’t say the same for my football team. There have been some lean years over the course of this sentence. 2007 immediately comes to mind. (1-15 with our lone win in OT vs the Ravens.) But this season feels different. If you follow the NFL, you know what I’m talking about. Some longstanding records are going to fall by the time we hit January. And aside from an outlier game in Buffalo a few weeks ago, Miami looks like a legit Superbowl contender. But this week’s trip to Philly will be a major test. Cue the “unstoppable force meets immovable object” sports clichés. The Eagles might be the most physical team in the league on both sides of the ball and the Dolphins are clear the fastest. How cool that this defining matchup between last year’s NFC champs and my beloved upstart Fins is not just the Sunday night game, but the final Sunday night primetime game of my state prison bid. The finale. Fitting, right? Spoiler alert: I’m gonna be obnoxious. And loud. But do I have the Dolphins winning??? Cell Door Locks on deck…
