NFL Week 6 Predictions: Breaking Down the Key Matchups

Week 6 of the NFL season is set, and the stakes are high as teams battle to position themselves for the long haul. With a mix of star quarterbacks, intriguing rookie matchups, and some tight Las Vegas lines, here’s a full breakdown of all 13 games, score predictions, and betting insights.

Jaguars vs Bears (London Game)
Score Prediction: Jaguars 20-20 Bears
Las Vegas Line: Bears -1, O/U 44.5
Trevor Lawrence leads the Jaguars in their "home away from home" in London, a city where Jacksonville consistently thrives. Rookie Caleb Williams must have a flawless game to keep Chicago in the mix, but the home advantage in London may give the Jaguars an edge. The game projects as a tight, low-scoring affair, so betting the under 44.5 is a strong consideration.

Cardinals vs Packers
Score Prediction: Cardinals 28-22 Packers
Las Vegas Line: Packers -5.5, O/U 47
Arizona has found its groove offensively, with Kyler Murray leading a high-octane attack. Despite being underdogs, the Cardinals may surprise Green Bay at Lambeau. The over 47 looks enticing, given both teams' potential to light up the scoreboard. Cardinals ML is money if it hits.

Colts vs Titans
Score Prediction: Titans 23-20 Colts
Las Vegas Line: Titans -3, O/U 43
The Colts face a quarterback dilemma—Joe Flacco or rookie Anthony Richardson? Meanwhile, Tennessee continues to rely on its defense and running game to eke out close wins. Expect this to be a grind, but the Titans should pull through. A bet on the under 43 might be wise given the uncertainty at QB for Indianapolis.

Texans vs Patriots
Score Prediction: Patriots 20-18 Texans
Las Vegas Line: Texans -6.5, O/U 37.5
With rookie Drake Maye starting for the Patriots, New England will look to control the pace of the game. Houston’s defense might keep them competitive, but don’t overlook Maye’s potential to break through. A bet on New England to cover +6.5 seems like a solid play, with the low-scoring trend favoring the under. Look for the Patriots to take advantage of the same handicaps that were placed on Baker Mayfield and the Bucs when they played the Broncos with rookie QB Bo Nix.

Buccaneers vs Saints
Score Prediction: Buccaneers 23.5-20 Saints (1 of 5 LOCK OF THE WEEK)
Las Vegas Line: Buccaneers -3.5, O/U 42
With Spencer Rattler starting for the Saints and the Bucs finding consistency on both sides of the ball, Tampa Bay should have the upper hand in this NFC South battle. The line suggests a close game, but with the over 42, expect both teams to find the end zone. The Saints look to also take advantage of the handicaps placed on the opposing team when starting a bad rookie QB like a Spencer Rattler. The Saints will try to come in with a game plan similar to when the Broncos played the Bucs and dominated them on both sides of the ball. If the Saints fail to capitalize, they can potentially end the game with 10 points or less and the Bucs will have over 30 points.

Browns vs Eagles
Score Prediction: Eagles 20.5-18 Browns (2 OF 5 LOCK OF THE WEEK)
Las Vegas Line: Eagles -8.5, O/U 42.5
Deshaun Watson continues to struggle for Cleveland, and the Eagles will capitalize on that. While Philly’s offense is set to push the pace, the Browns' defense should keep it closer than the spread suggests. Browns to cover +8.5 looks promising.

Commanders vs Ravens
Score Prediction: Ravens 23-18 Commanders (3 OF 5 LOCK OF THE WEEK)
Las Vegas Line: Ravens -7, O/U 51.5
Rookie Jayden Daniels faces Lamar Jackson in an intriguing matchup. Despite the Ravens' defensive vulnerabilities, they should hold strong at home. However, Washington’s defense has not been solid as well. You have ten points to spare if you play the under.

Chargers vs Broncos
Score Prediction: Chargers 25-22 Broncos
Las Vegas Line: Chargers -3, O/U 35.5
In this battle between two former Oregon Ducks quarterbacks—Justin Herbert for the Chargers and rookie Bo Nix for the Broncos—the offensive firepower may push this game into the over 35.5 range. Denver’s defense will have to step up, but it’s tough to bet against Herbert in a tight game. The score prediction is 11.5 points over the O/U of 35.5. Taking Chargers -3 is a lock.

Steelers vs Raiders
Score Prediction: Steelers 19-17 Raiders
Las Vegas Line: Steelers -3, O/U 36.5
This AFC clash pits a surging Steelers defense against a Raiders offense led by Gardner Minshew (maybe). Both teams are likely to keep the game on the ground, and points could come at a premium. With a predicted low-scoring game, the under 36.5 is a tight play, and the Steelers covering the spread at home feels a little claustrophobic to me.

Lions vs Cowboys
Score Prediction: Cowboys 25-18 Lions (4 OF 5 LOCK OF THE WEEK)
Las Vegas Line: Lions -3.5, O/U 52.5
Detroit heads into this game as favorites, but Dallas has been formidable, particularly on offense. While the high total of 52.5 suggests a shootout, this game could be a little more controlled. Still, the over 52.5 seems possible given both teams' ability to score quickly, but Dallas covering the +3.5 might be the better bet. Everyone and their mother is picking Detroit to win. Not my model. It said Dallas wins by 7.

Falcons vs Panthers
Score Prediction: Falcons 22-15 Panthers (5 OF 5 LOCK OF THE WEEK)
Las Vegas Line: Falcons -6, O/U 46.5
The Falcons are on a roll and will likely lean on their defense and ground game to handle the Panthers, who have struggled to get much going offensively but have found some hope in Andy Dalton. Atlanta should control the tempo, and under 46.5 seems like the safest call in what could be a slower-paced affair. I don't see Kirk Cousins and Andy Dalton getting to 46.5 points. The score prediction is 9.5 points under 46.5.

Bengals vs Giants
Score Prediction: Giants 18-12.5 Bengals
Las Vegas Line: Bengals -3.5, O/U 47
The Bengals come in as favorites, but this game could be tighter than expected. The Giants' defense can make this a tough outing for Cincinnati, and a low-scoring game feels likely. The under 47 is the better choice here, and don’t be surprised if the Giants cover or even win outright.

Bills vs Jets
Score Prediction: Bills 21-19.5 Jets
Las Vegas Line: Bills -2, O/U 41
Buffalo should edge out the Jets in a gritty division showdown, but the score projection suggests this could be a field goal-heavy contest. Betting anything seems dangerous here.

Final Thoughts:

This week presents a range of matchups, from potential high-scoring shootouts to defensive slogs. Bettors should consider the unders in several games, especially where defenses are dominant or quarterback play is uncertain. Additionally, pay attention to spreads like Ravens -7 and Eagles -8.5, which could be closer games than Vegas suggests. Placing the games predicted to be locks can be placed in a Round Robin bet or parlay. Obviously some of these predicted Unders will become Overs, just due to the fact that there are too many of them. Overall I think week 6 will be a lower scoring week than most of the weeks already played if not the lowest scoring week. May the betting Gods be on your side and may you win all your bets. See you soon... week 7 predictions coming shortly.
