Ugh... It hurts my heart to drop the Dolphins out of the top ten after such a promising start. The Jets were a layup. A gimme. Instead, they ran our asses out of New York and busted up our backup QB in the process. The Pats and the Bills won too, creating a logjam in the AFC East. In the AFC West, the Chiefs and Chargers appear set for a photo finish down the stretch as the Raiders and Broncos continue to fade. The AFC North appears to be the Ravens to lose but the Bengals and Browns can make it interesting if they can string together a few wins in the coming weeks. The Steelers appear to be on life support. The AFC South? Anyone's guess. The Jags looked strong for a couple games then reverted to their below average selves over the last two weeks. The Texans are a try hard team that has sub-500 written all over them. I still think the division will come down to the Titans and Colts. Lots of football left to play though. NFC report card next week. Power Rankings on deck.

#1. Eagles — Another weekend, another win. Eagles flying high. (same ranking as last week)

#2. Chiefs — Travis Kelce's 4 Touchdown night versus the Raiders: Historic. Chiefs are the Golden State Warriors of the National Football League. (same ranking as last week)

#3. Bills — Blowout versus the Steelers is not enough to move them past the Chiefs... But a revenge win this Sunday at Arrowhead will. Just remember—13 seconds is too much time. (same ranking as last week)

#4. Ravens — Finally, a home win. The Ravens looking like a team gearing up for a deep playoff run. (same ranking as last week)

#5. 49ers — Best defense in the NFL? Every Sunday they get stronger. Clearly the bullies of their division. (up from 7th last week)

#6. Vikings — Had to hang on versus the lowly Bears after jumping out early. Still looking like the best team in the NFC North. (up from 9th last week)

#7. Buccaneers — Is Brady merely going through the motions? Even so, that's probably good enough to win the NFC South. (up from 10th last week)

#8. Cowboys — "We're nobody's underdog," said HC Mike McCarthy going into the game versus the Rams in Los Angeles (as a 5.5 point underdog). Guess he was right. (up from 11th last week)

#9. Chargers — Big time road win for the Bolts. HC Brandon Staley almost cost his team the win by going for it on 4th and 1 from his own side of the 50 though. Questionable late game analytics have been a theme for this team. (up from 13th last week)

#10. Giants — Don't look now but the G-Men are 4-1 and tied with Cowboys for second place in the division. Don't think anyone saw that coming. (up from 14th last week)

#11. Bengals — Another close loss for the Bengals. Imagine how good they would be with a legit O-line. Still feel like they'll make a push down the stretch. (dn from 6th last week)

#12. Packers — The Davonte Adams loss looms larger every week. Aaron Rodgers lacks a go-to receiver for the first time in his career. (dn from 5th last week)

#13. Browns — Tough loss versus the Chargers. That late pick by QB Jacoby Brissett was brutal. And the missed field goal by Cade York as time expired was a heartbreaker. Browns are in every game though. (up from 15th last week)

#14. Dolphins — Injuries derailing what might have been a magical season for the Fins. Still can't believe that backup QB Steady Teddy Bridgewater went down with a concussion on the first play of the game. (dn from 8th last week)

#15. Rams — Fat and happy off a Super Bowl victory, the Rams appear content to be an average football team. The Cowboys dominated them last Sunday. (dn from 12th last week)

#16. Titans — Almost choked it away there at the end. Lots of work to do for last year’s #1 seed in the AFC. But the win versus the lowly Commanders returned them to the top of their division... for now. (up from 18th last week)

#17. Jaguars — After a shutout of rival Colts and a good old fashioned country ass whupping of the Chargers in LA, the Big Cats revert to their box of kitten ways with back-to-back losses versus the Eagles and Texans. (same ranking as last week)

#18. Colts — Defense put on a clinic in a pitcher’s duel last Thursday in Mile High. QB Matt Ryan did just enough to win in overtime. Colts still finding their legs. (up from 21st last week)

#19. Jets — Big win against the banged-up Dolphins. Don't look now but the Jets are tied for #1 in the AFC East. (up from 23rd last week)

#20. Saints — Between QB Andy Dalton and Swiss Army Knife Taysom Hill, the Saints might've found something to build on going forward. Next up: Joe Burrow and the Bengals. (up from 26th last week)

#21. Cardinals — They played a tight game against the Eagles but still came away empty. The losses continue to pile up. WR DeAndre Hopkins will be back next week. If there was a receiver who could put an entire team on his back... (dn from 19th last week)

#22. Raiders — RB Josh Jacobs showed up and showed out versus the Chiefs in Arrowhead on Monday Night. Unfortunately his dominance in the run game was not enough to overcome Mahomes and Kelce. (same ranking as last week)

#23. Patriots — Pats were dominant against a hobbled Lions team last week. A repeat performance against the Browns in Cleveland would probably vault them into the top half of the rankings. (up from 27th last week)

#24. Broncos — Season beginning to unravel for the Broncos. They are hemorrhaging starters. RB Javonte Williams, DE Bradley Chubb, and now there are reports that QB Russell Wilson has an ailing right shoulder. Not good. (dn from 16th last week)

#25. Falcons — Losing RB Cordarrelle Patterson is a tough break for a surprisingly competitive unit. WR Drake London looks like the real deal. (dn from 20th last week)

#26. Seahawks — QB Geno Smith continues to play like the first-rounder the Jets drafted a decade ago. Win or lose, the Hawks are in every game. (dn from 24th last week)

#27. Lions — That crash landing in New England was bound to happen. Too many missing stars on offense coupled with the league’s worst defense will get you spanked in Foxborough every Sunday. (dn from 25th last week)

#28. Texans — Big win for Texans on the road against a divisional opponent. Nice way to enter the bye week. (up from 31st last week)

#29. Steelers — No shame in a blowout loss to Buffalo with a rookie QB making his first start on the road. We'll see how Kenny Pickett looks against the Bucs at home this weekend. (dn from 28th last week)

#30. Bears — They fought admirably against the Viks. They trailed by 21 early but battled back in the fourth, even taking the lead at one point. Now they draw the Commanders in a winnable Thursday night game to get to .500. Bears are still alive. (same ranking as last week)

#31. Panthers — I was totally drinking the Baker Mayfield Kool-Aid at the start of the season. So far, not so good. Things don't get any easier on the road against the Rams this Sunday. (dn from 29th last week)

#32. Commanders —When asked about the success of the other teams in the NFC East (a combined 13-2 versus Washington's 1-4 record) HC Ron Rivera had a one-word response regarding the difference: "Quarterback." Not exactly a vote of confidence for Carson Wentz. (same ranking as last week)
