It is Thanksgiving week and the NCAA Basketball season is getting revved up with several holiday tournaments.
The Maui Invitational in Hawaii features top-ranked Duke, number 3 ranked Gonzaga, Arizona and number 8 ranked Auburn. Duke is 3-0 straight up on the season with all 3 wins by at least a 20 point margin. Duke is 2-1 ATS and is favored over San Diego State today by 15.5. Duke opened the season with a 38 point blowout of basketball powerhouse Kentucky and features 3 freshmen all slated to be drafted in the next NBA lottery.
Auburn takes on Xavier in today's opening game. The Tigers are 3-0 straight up on the season and 2-1 ATS including a blowout win over then-ranked No. 25 Washington. Xavier lost a lot of talent from last year's team that earned a No.1 seed in the NCAA tournament and also has a new coach. Xavier is 2-1 striaght up and 0-3 ATS on the season and is coming off a 77-68 loss to Wisconsin. The winner of Duke-San Diego State will take on the winner of Auburn-Xavier tomorrow.
Number 3 ranked Gonzaga takes on Illinois tonight. Gonzaga is favored over Illinois by 14.5 and is 3-0 straight up and ATS on the season. Illinois is 1-1 both straightup and against the spread; and is off a 88-80 loss to Georgia Tech. Arizona takes on Iowa State in the other evening matchup tonight. Iowa State is 3-0 straight up on the season and 1-2 ATS and is off a 12 point victory over Texas Southern. Arizona is 3-0 on the season straight up and 2-1 ATS and is off a home blowout of UTEP. Arizona is favored by one point tonight. The Arizona-Iowa State winner takes on the Gonzaga-Xavier winner tomorrow.
Other college holiday tournaments starting today include the Gulf Coast Showcase, Cayman Islands Classic, the Legends Classic and MGM Resorts Main Event. So there you have it, plenty of college basketball offerings to bet on during the holiday week. Play on!!
