The Detroit Pistons have quite the challenge ahead of them as they're expected to be blown off the court. They are staying on the road Thursday to face off against the Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m. ET Dec. 23 at FTX Arena. Miami should still be riding high after a big victory, while the Pistons will be looking to right the ship.

Detroit ended up a good deal behind the New York Knicks when they played on Tuesday, losing 105-91. Shooting guard Cade Cunningham wasn't much of a difference maker for Detroit; Cunningham finished with only seven points on 2-for-13 shooting and turned the ball over five times in his 32 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, everything went Miami's way against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday as they made off with a 125-96 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 68-45. Among those leading the charge for Miami was point guard Tyler Herro, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and finished with 26 points and five assists.

The Pistons are now 5-25 while the Heat sit at 19-13. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Detroit has allowed their opponents to shoot 47.40% from the floor on average, which is the highest shooting percentage allowed in the league. Miami's defense has more to brag about, as they they come into the game boasting the third fewest points allowed per game in the league at 103.5. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
