Dan's UFC 182 Recap

Heading into 2015, UFC 182 received a lot of attention after an August 4th highly fueled stare down turned into a pre-fight brawl in the middle of MGM Grand's lobby.

Many analysts were torn on who to pick in the main event. Hector and I came to the conclusion that with Jones' reach and youth advantage, the odds for betting Cormier at +140 were out of the question. I had still thought Cormier wanted it more than Jones going into the fight. His last 2 oppoents were no where near the caliber of Jones', but he still made it a good fight.

The scorecards gave Jones a unanimous 49-46 decision win, but the fight was much closer than that. Cormier arguably won round 2, and Jones had arguably won round 4 in my opinion. Rounds 1, 3 and 5 were close. I gave Jones round 5 and 3 scoring it 48-47 Jones. 49-46 wasn't surprising from the judges, but I would've thought at least 1 judge would give Cormier a couple rounds.

In the end our 6.6 unit play on Jones paid out 4 units. Hector and I were pretty torn on most of the card but his hard work and research for UFC 182 made it our 2nd most profitable night (since recording units in December 2013), and the first documented units via third party for us.

We had also had some smaller plays on a trio of underdogs who all cashed including a 2 leg prop parlay with 33 to 1 odds! Was a very successful beginning to the year as we look to forward to an extremely profitable 2015. See you at the winners table!
